Ulster Lodge in 1953

Fifty years after the consecration at the Hotel Cecil, the Lodge published A Jubilee Review to record its first half-century.

A Lodge looking back — and forward

A Jubilee Review, published by Ulster Lodge No. 2972 in 1953 to mark its first fifty years.

The surviving Jubilee booklet is only twelve pages long, but it preserves a remarkable snapshot of Ulster Lodge at fifty. It contains the Lodge’s early history, the succession of Past Masters, its honorary members, the 1953 officers and a brief account of the Lodge of Instruction.

The booklet also shows how strongly the Lodge still understood itself through its Ulster connections. It was a London Lodge, but one conscious of the people and Masonic relationships that linked it to Ireland.
